We need volunteers!
This event would not be possible without volunteers!
We need you to volunteer.

The purpose of this form is for volunteers to submit their information.

Volunteers will be needed for all aspects of the event.  The areas that need volunteers include but not limited to the following:

  • Help decorate and setup on September 2, 2005
  • Continue Setup on the morning of September 3, 2005.
  • help direct traffic
  • help direct parking areas
  • help at domino tournament
  • help at the business expo
  • Greeting people
  • help organize deferent areas of the event.
  • help on the parade route
  • help with moving tables and chairs
  • Stage hands
  • handing out fliers.
  • trash pickup during & after the event
  • having a good time
  • and much more!
  • A few event areas are requesting volunteers to perform special duties.  If you feel that you would want to work in one of these areas, please state so in the comments area below. Click here to see special requests.

Western Day Volunteers

  • We ask that volunteers work at least a 2+ hour shift.  If you want to work more, we can use you.
  • Volunteers should expect the usual "hurry up and wait" but we hope it is "stay busy and have fun".
  • Those of you who volunteer all day will get first choice of duties.
  • All volunteers should plan to be at the orientation on Sept. 2nd Friday - Time TBA.
  • On the day of the event will receive WD Volunteer shirts, water and snack.
  • Check In at Lewisville State Bank 15 minutes prior to your scheduled work time.
  • Dress western – jeans, boots, hat, bandana if possible.

Areas that need Volunteers:  Please check the areas that you want to work.  You will be contacted for confirmation before September 2, 2005.  The following are areas that are still open as of 8-8-2005.  (Strike though text is filled). 

Friday Sept. 2nd 

Need strong volunteers to put out bails of hay Main @ Charles, & Mill wear gloves and long sleeves.
     4 volunteers needed:  5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Need volunteers to set up tables and chairs Business Expo
     3 volunteers needed:  9:00 am - 11:00 am


Saturday Sept. 3rd

Taste of Lewisville -- to ensure wash stand is kept up with (9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.)
      1 volunteers needed: 9:00 am - 11:30 am
      1 volunteers needed: 11:30 am - 3:00 pm
      1 volunteers needed: 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm 
      1 volunteers needed: 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Beer Stands -- 2-3 in each stand (2 stands) per hour to serve beer must be 21 or over 2 people per hour to do ID registration in Information Center (sitting & indoors).  Until Beer runs out.
      6 volunteers needed: 11:30 am - 3:00 pm
      6 volunteers needed: 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm 
      6 volunteers needed: 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Trash Detail -- 3 persons per hour go around and check on trash cans, ensure that they are being emptied and directing the trash personnel.
      3 volunteers needed: 9:00 am - 11:30 am
      3 volunteers needed: 11:30 am - 3:00 pm
      3 volunteers needed: 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm 
      3 volunteers needed: 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Kids Area -- 1 person each hour to walk around area ensure that things are going well, be the contact or go to person. (9:00 a.m. -- 7:00 p.m.)

      1 volunteers needed: 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Information Center -- 2 people per hour to answer questions, be the base contact people. (7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.) (Sitting & Indoors)

      1 volunteers needed: 9:00 am - 11:30 am
      1 volunteers needed: 11:30 am - 3:00 pm
      1 volunteers needed: 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm 
      1 volunteers needed: 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Quilt Show -- 1 person per hour to watch the quilts (sitting & indoors) (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)

      1 watch the quilts: 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
      1 watch the quilts: 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm
      1 watch the quilts: 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Domino Tournament -- Table Marshalls (Must know how to play 42 dominos) -- Need from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (or until final round) -- Sitting & Indoors
      4 Judges Needed: 8:00 am - 10:30 am  
      4 Judges Needed: 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
      4 Judges Needed: 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm
      2 Judges Needed: 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm
      2 Judges Needed: 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Need 7 volunteers to man barriers, direct traffic, direct parking areas, direct traffic and watch for permits. 6:30am-8pm.
      6:30 am - 8:30 am  
      8:30 am - 10:30 am
      10:30 am - 12:30 pm
      12:30 pm - 2:30 pm
      2:30 pm - 4:30 pm
      4:30 pm - 6:30 pm
      6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Need 6 volunteers for main stage–runners, stage hands, unload speakers, stage management (FILLED)

1 volunteers needed: 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm(FILLED)

Need 4 volunteers for community stage–runners, parking GLTC parking lot(FILLED)
